Silk road big adventure travel exposure at itb
Two major ITB events are planned by the UNWTO Silk Road Programme.
The Silk Road Ministers meeting will focus on developing routes along the Silk Road to help intra-country connections, trade and business, and an event is planned with ATTA to focus on the Silk Road’s adventure potential.
The Minister’s meeting is by invitation-only and will take place on Wednesday 4 March at 11am in the Berlin Room and will include the inscription of the first UNESCO Silk Road Heritage Corridor, a maritime Silk Road, a Spice Route and other projects.
The meeting also aims to discuss transboundary co-operations, product development, joint destination marketing and the safeguarding of natural and cultural heritage.
There will also be a presentation on the Silk Road’s adventure tourism potential.

The Tour Operator’s Forum – a joint event with ATTA takes place on Thursday 5 March, 11:00-13:00 at Palais West Room, ITB Berlin and is titled: ‘Unlocking the Silk Road’s Adventure Travel Potential’
This forum will offer an opportunity for adventure travel experts and Silk Road tour operators to discuss opportunities for joint product development and cooperative marketing activities..
