More than 300 customers have been left in limbo after a Singapore travel agency abruptly closed down.
S Travel, which specialised in South Korea trips, closed just one day before 40 customers were due to fly out on holiday.
They had paid up to S$1,800 each for their trips.
The Singapore Tourism Board responded by suspended its license.
"STB is looking into the matter and may consider taking further actions against S Travel and its directors, if necessary," it said in a statement.
Ken Lee, corporate secretary of S Travel, told local media the company had recently experienced ‘financial difficulties.’
The agency owes about S$900,000 to its Korean partner, Jung Ho Travel for unpaid hotel bookings.
Authorities had recently announced a mandatory insurance sceme to protect customers after several Singapore agencies abruptly closed down during 2015 leaving travellers out of pocket.
