Small luxury chain shows big growth

Thursday, 25 Jan, 2006 0

Small Luxury Hotels of the World (SLH) ended last year with a 10% increase in reservations and a 26% increase in online bookings.

The group said its Website, slh.com, was a key contributor to its growth in reservations.

“There is no arguing that luxury travel is on the rise,” said SLH joint-managing director Paul Kerr.

America was SLH’s number one source market last year, making up 60% of its total global business. The UK was second.

SLH is a collection of almost 360 independently-owned exclusive hotels in 50 countries. Properties include spas, country houses, golf resorts, island retreats, city sanctuaries, and game and wilderness lodges.
