The US ski season had its third best season in history, according to figures from the 2003-2004 Kottke End-of-Season Survey.
“Despite an unfavorable macroeconomic and political climate, the US ski resort industry was able to report a near-record season, demonstrating the resilience of the industry, and the enduring appeal of skiing and snowboarding,” said Michael Berry, president of the National Ski Areas Association.
The ski industry had its three best seasons ever within the last four years, he added.
The National Ski Areas Association includes the Southeast, the Midwest, the Pacific West, the Rocky Mountains and the Northeast. The Southeast had the highest increase, up 11% from its ten-year average.
