South Australia ‘cruel’ double quarantine for Olympic athletes slammed
Australian Olympic Committee has slammed the state of South Australia for its ‘cruel’ treatment of Olympic athletes resident in the state. Athletes back from Tokyo are undergoing a mandatory 14-day quarantine, mostly in Sydney, but those heading home to South Australia afterwards are being forced to complete another 14 days isolation at their homes.
The AOC calls the double quarantine ‘cruel’ and risks the mental wellbeing of athletes. Additionally, the AOC says it has no medical benefits. It affects 16 athletes currently quarantining in Sydney.
