Lahaina was ‘almost totally burnt to the ground’ said Brian Schatz, a Hawaii US senator.
At least 36 people have now died as a result of the Hawaii wildfires.
Southwest said it will add more Hawaii flights between the islands and back to the mainland ‘to keep people and supplies moving.’
Hundreds of residents have been displaced and many businesses have been been burnt down.
