Southwest CEO Gary Kelly stepping down
Southwest Airlines CEO Gary Kelly, one of the longest serving airline bosses in the industry, will step down early next year. He will become executive chairman and will be replaced by Corporate Services EVP, Robert Jordan from 1 February 2022.
Kelly joined Southwest in 1988 and has been CEO since 2004. During his tenure he oversaw the airline’s first international flights and the takeover of AirTran Airways.
