Spas, Wi-Fi and other hotel trends noted in report
The hottest hotel amenity: spas. Wi-Fi has become a necessity. And spending is taking off.
Those were among Benchmark Hospitality International’s “Top Ten Hospitality Trends for the Year.”
The chain of 31 resorts, hotels and conference centers said advance bookings for corporate conferences are up at their properties anywhere from 20 to 50%.
“Companies are investing more to bring their people together to launch, reinforce and accelerate initiatives in this strengthening economy,” the chain said.
Plasma screens and first-class amenities are in high demand.
Another trend is for hotels and conference centers to increasingly communicate with consumers and planners through e-commerce.
“Print advertising, however is by no means dead and direct mail is alive, well and kicking,” concluded properties in the management company based in Houston, Texas.
