Spirit Airlines passenger in cell phone meltdown

Tuesday, 19 Nov, 2012 0

Spirit Airlines, which already has its hands full this week with planned flight attendant picket lines, got another holiday bonus on Monday morning.  A passenger on a flight getting ready for departure from LaGuardia Airport bound for Fort Lauderdale, Florida who would not turn off his cell phone, allegedly made a threat to the flight crew and was removed from the aircraft.

The person and his bags were searched and while nothing of a threatening nature was found, he may be charged for making a threat to flight crew.

All 145 passengers were screened again and bags were rechecked as a precautionary measure, NBC News reported.  The aircraft was cleared for flight.
