Spirit Airlines sued over flight attendant sexual assault
A man has filed a lawsuit against Spirit Airlines claiming sexual assault.
The passenger, named ‘MB’ was offered free alcohol by the flight attendant and summoned to the galley area where he alleges he was groped.
It took place during a flight from Myrtle Beach to Philadelphia in June.
The flight attendant passed the plaintiff a napkin with his telephone number, which the passenger used in a bid to find out the employee’s name.
During a text conversation the flight attendant allegedly apologized and said he ‘didn’t mean to be disrespectful.’
The plaintiff had already filed a criminal complaint with local police.
The airline is being sued for negligence, and the flight attendant for battery and assault.
It alleges that Spirit Airlines ‘should have known about the sexual abuse being committed by its employee ‘and his ‘propensities to sexual violence, physical violence and sexual deviance.’
