Star Cruises unveils trio of homeports for SuperStar Libra
Star Cruises has announced a triple port deployment for SuperStar Libra beginning next month.
SuperStar Libra will homeport concurrently in Port Klang and Penang in Malaysia as well as Phuket Thailand.
The ship will offer two cruises per week, including three-night Port Klang-Phuket-Penang sailings or four-night Port Klang-Langkawi-Phuket-Penang cruises.
Port Klang is the main cruise terminal and seaport for the Malaysian capital Kuala Lumpur.
"We are extremely delighted with SuperStar Libra’s new deployment in Kuala Lumpur, together with Penang and Phuket," said Ang Moo Lim, president of Star Cruises.
"Star Cruises is optimistic this will grow our source markets in Southeast Asia, allowing guests more access to multiple homeports and concurrently developing and stimulating the growth of the cruise tourism sector across borders through fly-cruise options."
The 42,285-tonne SuperStar Libra features 718 cabins, with 1,436 lower berths including Executive Suites with personal living room space and Oceanview Staterooms.
A division of Genting Cruise Lines, Star Cruises operates a fleet of six ships including SuperStar Virgo, SuperStar Gemini, SuperStar Aquarius, Star Pisces and The Taipan.
Genting’s other cruise brands are Dream Cruises and Crystal Cruises.
