Starwood Hotels & Resorts’ Four Points brand will make its Singapore debut next year after signing a deal with local developer Keck Seng Hotel Pte Ltd.
The former Riverview Hotel will be rebranded to Four Points Singapore Riverview and is set to open by the end of 2016 after a S$25 million renovation.
"The signing of Four Points Singapore, Riverview underscores Starwood’s multi-brand growth strategy in the country," said Rajit Sukumaran, senior vice president, acquisition and development for Starwood.
"It is also an example of our conversion-friendly approach and our ability to convert hotels in a short amount of time as we strive to maximize value for our partners."
Four Points Singapore Riverview will feature 476 rooms, several dining venues, a fitness centre, an outdoor pool and meeting space.
"We are excited to introduce the compelling Four Points brand in Singapore, delivering an approachable design and stylish comfort for the everyday traveller to the local hospitality scene," said Shirley Wong, the hotel’s general manager.
Starwood also operates the Sheraton, St Regis, Westin and W Hotel brands in Singapore.
Earlier this week Starwood announced it is being acquired by Marriott International in a $12.2 billion deal, creating the world’s largest hotel company.
