Superbreak sets 70% target for agent online bookings
Superbreak expects almost three quarters of agent bookings to be made via its website by the end of the year.
The operator, which is switching off viewdata distribution this month, saw online sales reach 62% in 2006 and wants to see the level hit 70% by the end of 2007.
The company claims “significant improvements” will be made to the look and content of the www.superbreak.com/agents site.
Superbreak also wants to ensure that UK hotel breaks are seen by agents as one of their most profitable core products during the course of the year.
Despite the possible reduction in agent numbers overall, Superbreak predicts increasing its total sales via agents by more than 10% in 2007 as it adds 500 more hotels and aims to further establish itself as an important supplier of overseas accommodation only.
Sales director Ian Mounser said: “Each year we set ourselves a range of goals and it’s really encouraging that in 2006 we achieved on most of them.
“We fully understand the importance of supporting travel agents and you will see from our 2007 objectives that we intend to continue this going forward. I am sure there will be challenges along the way but 2007 looks set to be a record year.”
