Survey: Record cruise demand from Southampton in 2025

Southampton is set for another record year of cruise traffic based on the preferences of Iglu Cruise customers.
A survey of 5,000 customers suggests a record number of cruisers will sail from Southampton in 2025.
It is forecasting more than the 2.7 million passengers who departed in 2023.
Southampton was named the UK’s most popular departure port by Iglu Cruise customers.
It attributes demand for Southampton cruises to factors such as easy access from across the UK, a wide choice of itineraries and cruise lines, easy parking options and accessibility for disabled travellers.
The survey found nearly half preferred departing directly on cruises from the UK rather than a fly cruise.
Dave Mills, chief commercial officer at Iglu Cruise, said: “Once holidaymakers have departed for the first time from Southampton, they tend to never look back, given how straightforward and pleasant the experience is.”
