Survey: Theme park visitors want pre-booking

Tuesday, 15 November 20163 min read
The vast majority of visitors want the convenience of pre-booking all aspects of a theme park experience, according to a new report.
For the first Omnico Theme Park Barometer, 2,000 guests in the US, UK and China were surveyed and 84% in the US and UK said the experience would be enhanced if they could pick from a choice of personalized promotions on-site.
Nine out of ten also want the ability to pre-book for the entire theme park visit including tickets, accommodations, meals and merchandise.
Also 81% said they would like to get alerts on the ideal time to visit on-site restaurants.
More than two-thirds also want to use cashless devices to pay for the experience, such as wristbands or mobile apps.
"Customers want operators to use technology to give them a stress-free experience that is good value and memorable. This does not require major investment in new solutions, but intelligent integration that fits each piece of the jigsaw together perfectly, from POS systems to CRM and loyalty personalisation," said Mel Taylor, CEO of UK based Omnico Group.
"We believe our Theme Park Barometer will be an indispensable tool for determining where effort should be focused and investments made."
