Swallow Hotels calls in administrators
The Maidstone company behind Swallow Hotels and the Gourmet Pub Company has called in administrators Ernst & Young to help with “increasing heavy losses”.
According to reports in the financial press, the London & Edinburgh Swallow Group is operating as normal while administrators Ernst & Young examines all the options, including the sale of assets.
The Swallow chain operates 671 sites across the UK and has about 7,300 staff.
There are 70 Swallow Hotels in Scotland alone, including five in Edinburgh.
The London & Edinburgh Swallow Group is also the holding company for London and Edinburgh Inns, Newlord, and React Inns.
