Tahiti greets first international cruise ship in two years
Tahiti has welcomed its first major cruise ship in two years, with the arrival of Viking Orion. International cruise calls to French Polynesia have been suspended due of the pandemic, and tourism officials are confident cruise traffic will rebound this year.
Viking Orion arrived in Papeete with about 500 passengers. Visitors to French Polynesia are required to present a PCR test 24 hours before arrival. A total of 200 international cruise ship visits are expected in the islands of French Polynesia during. 2022.
