Sunday, 17 Mar, 2008 0

Cruise through the Mediterranean aboard one of the world’s grandest ships, and you’ll not just come home talking about your great Italian food discoveries – you’ll come home able to re-create them, backed as well with the knowledge to select just the right wines to match your new-found culinary skills.

Sojourn by Wiltrans International has an 18-day fly, cruise and stay package from Rome to Istanbul in June of this year that combines 11-nights aboard the 490-guest Seven Seas Navigator, with a program of shore-side food tasting, a Tuscan cooking lesson and wine tastings in Rome and Tuscany… and an onboard credit of US$500pp.

The tour departs Australia on June 14; six nights in Rome and Siena include a wine tasting and dinner at the famed Il Palazzetto Hotel with a member of the International Wine Academy of Rome, a Tuscan salami and cheese tasting in Siena, a half-day Tuscan cooking lesson at Lella Cesari’s Cooking School, and a Tuscan wine tasting tour at Siena’s Castel di Pugna wine estate.

Guests then join Seven Seas Navigator for 11-nights of ultra-luxury cruising to Livorno, Monte Carlo, Ajaccio, Sorrento, Naxos, Nafplion, Santorini, Kusadasi and Istanbul, with all onboard gourmet dining, beverages, entertainment, gratuities and port charges, and a night aboard ship in Istanbul included.

Prices start from $14,395pp twin-share from Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and Adelaide, and from $14,320pp from Perth.

Full details from Wiltrans International on 1800 251 174.

ADDITIONAL SHIP INFORMATION: The all-suite Seven Seas Navigator carries just 490 passengers, with 90 per cent of suites having balconies.

There’s open-seating dining in the ship’s two restaurants, complimentary 24-hour room service, and complimentary beverages including select beers, wines and spirits served throughout the ship; the pool deck has a pool, two whirlpools and a Grill and Bar.

Readers of Conde Nast Traveler magazine have voted Regent Seven Seas Cruises, operators of Seven Seas Navigator, The World’s #1 Large-ship Cruise Line.
