Teenager who disappeared in Malaysia ‘died from hunger and stress’
The London teenager who was found dead after going missing from a jungle resort in Malaysia died from internal bleeding, a post mortem has found.
Malaysian police are insisting there is no evidence of abduction or foul play and said her death was probably caused by prolonged hunger and stress.
Nora Quoirin, 15, who has special needs, went missing on August 4 from The Dusan resort in a nature reserve near Seremban, 63 km south of Kuala Lumper.
She had been on holiday with her family.
Her father raised the alarm when he discovered her missing from her bedroom at 8am local time on Sunday. Her window had been opened.
Her body was found on Tuesday beside a stream about 1.6 miles from resort.
Police, who had carried out a 10-day search, believe she died two or three days before she was found.
Her parents had previously said they didn’t believe she would have wandered off alone, leading to fears she had been abducted.
Police said further analysis will be carried out on samples taken from her body.
Meabh and Sebastien Quoirin, her Irish-French parents, said their hearts are broken and paid tribute to their daughter as ‘the truest, most precious girl’.
