Tempo goes up a gear for UK-Ireland 2006

Cycling, walking, golf, cooking and backroads tours as well as five new London stay-over packages are among significant additions to Tempo Holidays 2006 UK & Ireland brochure released this week. 

Rail tours have been extended to the Lake District and Brighton, Dartmoor National Park, Nottingham and Isle of Wight are new regions, overnight options have been added to popular day tours to Oxford, Stratford and Bath while the Military Tattoo in Edinburgh and 3 day Taste of Edinburgh and Glasgow are new for Scotland. 

Tempo Medallion, the wholesaler’s new Gold, Silver and Bronze value/location rating has been applied to the hotel range which features new Gold-value luxury London properties Mandarin Oriental Hotel (from $376 per person per night twin share) and Radisson Edwardian Mayfair (from $202).

Product manager, Lina Chila said the changes generally broadened choice and met demand for soft adventure.“This is a diverse program which provide agents with scope to develop complete itineraries for their clients,” she said. 

Adding to the 3 day Taste of London (from $294 per person twin share) are 4 days Snapshots of London (from $435), 5 days Scenes of London (from $1008), 5 days Images of London (from $773), 5 days Luxuries of London (from $5165) and 8 days Best of London (from $1880).   

The new packages feature other London attractions not included in the hallmark Taste of London, such as London Eye, Theatre & Dinner package, London Pass and the ability to choose from a selection of half day and full day tours.  

The Best of London incorporates both hotel and apartment accommodation options and for those wanting to enjoy the finer points of London, the Luxuries of London not only features touring options but 4 nights accommodation at the luxurious Mandarin Oriental Hotel, return private Mercedes transfers from Heathrow as well as personalised check-in on arrival. 

Two nights B&B, 18 holes of golf and dinner from $428 per person twin share is a golf package in Ireland’s County Dublin or County Clare. 

New to Wales are 5 days self-guided cycling tours in Snowdonia and Anglesey in Northern Wales priced from $1092 and a 4 day Backroads Touring from London in a mini coach priced from $1163 per person twin share, maximum 11 passengers. 

Dunbrody Country House & Hotel in Ireland’s County Wexford is the base for the new two nights cooking packages, featuring dessert/chocolate and dinner party courses. Price is from $637.
