Thai AirAsia announces layoffs
Thai AirAsia has announced further cuts to the business with a downsizing of planes and people.
Tassapon Bijleveld, executive chairman of parent Asia Aviation announced impending job cuts. The exact number of layoffs will be announced later this week.
In addition the Thai AirAsia fleet will be reduced by 10% from 60 to 54 planes.
"It’s hurtful to take such a decision, but it’s based on reality which we cannot answer as to when the situation will improve," Tassapon said.
