Thai bus crash injures Brit, other tourists

At least 10 foreign tourists were injured in a tour bus crash in southern Thailand.
The bus was travelling from tourist hub Krabi when it flipped over on a highway in Surat Thani Province.
The injured reportedly included at least one British tourist.
“The bus had picked up 40 tourists and three staff from Ao Nang in Krabi Province. They were headed to the pier in Don Sak District in Surat Thani Province, en route to Koh Samui island,” a police spokesperson said.
Some were trapped in the wreckage although only three required hospital treatment, including a 23-year-old British traveller.
A rescue team was on the scene quickly to free trapped passengers.
The cause of the accident is still being investigated and the extent of injuries hasn’t been disclosed.
Tour bus accidents in Thailand are not uncommon due to relatively lax safety standards.
