Thailand further relaxes curbs, offers visa-free entry
Ahead of the holiday season Thailand is further easing entry restrictions for travellers from more than 50 countries.
Citizens from 56 countries, including Australia, France, and the US, will now be able to enter without visas, as long as they have a negative Covid test certificate.
They will still have to undergo hotel quarantine for 14 days.
Visitors will undergo three Covid tests while in quarantine, which is an increase from the current two mandated tests, said Taweesilp Witsanuyotin, spokesman for the Center for Covid-19 Situation Administration.
Taweesilp said more frequent testing during quarantine may allow Thailand to cut the isolation period to 10 days from early next year.
Travellers from countries not on the list of 56 may still apply for entry under the existing Special Tourist Visa scheme.
