Andrew Wood, General Manager of Chaophya Park Hotel & Resorts and Skål International Councillor-Thailand told The Mole today that the intense Thailand recovery programme is going well, with little evidence as far as he was aware of any significant impact.
He added that he was pleased to say that as a result of all the fine support from the press that only four cancellations have been received for the 67th Skål World Congress which is taking place in Thailand in two weeks time.
He said that there was naturally intense media interest in Thailand during the coup which lead to many questions regarding the safety of travelling around Thailand and as we know pictures of tanks and troop movements, as limited in actual numbers they were, make good TV but do little to promote tourism, adding, thankfully it was a peaceful and uneventful transition of power and the industry today is much as it was before.
Skål Thailand is looking forward to welcoming delegates to the World Congress and for delegates to see and experience how little things have changes for tourists visiting this beautiful country.
