The Korea Traditional Food Tourism Association is attending World Travel Market this year for the first time and can be found at ‘The Korean Food Tasting Stand’ AS4140. The Ministry of Tourism and Culture in Korea is funding the association to promote Korean cuisine around the world in order to showcase another aspect of this fantastic destination. This is an opportunity for delegates of WTM to sample foods that is not readily available in the UK. On the menu will be Kimchi, Rice Cakes, Hangwa (traditional sweets and cookies) and Sikhye (sweet rice punch). The aim of the ‘Korean Food Tasting Stand’ is not just to stimulate your taste buds, but to encourage and promote one key aspect of Korea’s fascinating tourism products. The food culture of a destination is of massive importance and gives you a great insight into the life and practices of the people. Stand AS4140 will be located close to the main stand of the Korea National Tourism Organization AS4100 in an unprecedented drive to promote the beautiful destination of Korea.
