The Observatory Hotel voted best place to stay in Australia
2008 has started with more than just the bang of fireworks for The Observatory Hotel in Sydney.
Within the first month of the new year, the hotel has been voted as the number one place to stay in Australia by readers of America’s highest selling travel magazine, Travel + Leisure.
In addition, The Observatory Hotel has also been recognised by another top US travel magazine, Conde Nast Traveler, making it onto their prestigious annual US Gold List.
Travel + Leisure announced this year’s “Top 500 Hotels” in their January issue with reader votes nudging the Orient-Express property into first place with a score of 87.4% narrowly pipping two other Sydney properties; the Four Seasons and The Intercontinental to the winning post.
Conde Nast Traveler magazine also reported in their January issue that The Observatory Hotel was a hit with their US readers who voted the luxurious hotel onto the annual Gold List, with a perfect score of 100% and 93.5% for room and service categories respectively and an overall score of 84.5%, The Observatory Hotel certainly impressed the US audience.
Patrick Griffin, Regional Managing Director Orient Express Hotels Australia believes this recognition has set a high standard for the team for the rest of 2008.
“I am delighted to hear The Observatory Hotel has been included in both of these compendiums of the greatest hotels around the globe, and to achieve number one position on T + L magazine’s list certainly helps cement our reputation as Australia’s leading, luxurious five-star hotel.”
“We have a responsibility, now more than ever, to consistently deliver the highest quality of hospitality and guest experiences as well as maintain our professional, attentive service for which we are so well known,” said Mr Griffin.
To celebrate, The Observatory Hotel is offering a free upgrade to a Deluxe Water View Room (worth $75) for all bookings made from now for stays in January 2008.
Prices start from $369 per room based on room only and offer is subject to availability.
