Buckingham Palace has confirmed that the Queen will offset the carbon impact of a state visit to the US next month.
A spokeswoman said discussions have been going on for some time with the Department of Transport and the figure is still being calculated.
The Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh, plus an entourage of 35 people, will fly on a British Airways Boeing 777 for the trip.
