The world’s first truly tortuous cruise
Carnival next April will host what it is calling the first horror convention at sea. “The Tides of Torture” cruise will feature stars from more than a half dozen “slasher” movies that include “Friday the 13th” and “Zombie’s Halloween.”
The four-night scare fest kicks off in Tampa on the 2,052-passenger Carnival Paradise.
Organizer Dark Star Fantasy Cruises says it'll include entertainment by national acts, movie screenings, a "scream queen" contest and a "Dance of the Dead."
Among the scary movie celebrities taking part in the event are Doug Bradley (Pinhead from the "Hellraiser" series) and Tony Todd (the "Candyman" series; “Final Destination 1, 3, 5”; and “Hatchet 1 and 2”).
Organizers also are touting the presence of a former porn star, Seka, as well as Jill Whitlow and Jason Lively from “Night of the Creeps,” Ashley C. Williams from “The Human Centipede” and nearly a dozen other film personalities.
Fares start at $699 per person, based on double occupancy.
