A Thomson flight was forced to make a U-turn just moments after take-off from Birmingham following a bird strike
Passengers reported hearing two loud bangs in mid air and smoke coming from one engine.
The Boeing 737, heading to Paphos in Cyprus, returned to the runway and passengers returned to the airport to wait to hear from the operator.
A spokesman for Birmingham Airport told MailOnline that there were no injuries.
