Thomson wins award for high-tech stores
Thomson has beat off competition from M&S, Argos and House of Fraser to win a Digital Store of the Year award.
Judges in the BT Retail Week Technology Awards were impressed by the "innovative use of in-store digital technology" at Thomson’s new concept stores in Bluewater, Liverpool and Bristol.
A fourth Thomson Holiday Design Store will open this summer in Gateshead.
The stores have an 84-inch touch screen interactive map and interactive table designed to inspire and entertain customers, plus high definition screens and projections around the store with changing holiday images and video content.
"The introduction of the latest digital technology brings to life our holidays like never before so our customers feel inspired and excited from the moment they step into store," said Kathryn Ward, director of retail and financial services for Thomson and First Choice.
"We have had some great feedback from our customers and it’s fantastic to achieve recognition from across the retail industry."
