1. Anite buys FSS Group


Anite released its interim results today for the six months
ended 31 October 2001 and announced that it has bought FSS Group
for up to GBP 10 million.

2. Opodo: Controversy continues despite Germany launch


Controversy continues to surround European travel website Opodo
which has launched in its first market, Germany. Last week, the
European Commission announced that it intends to give clearance
to the joint airline venture on the basis that it complies with
European competition rules. But critics remain concerned, and
are particularly worried about the site’s ‘Most Favoured
Nations’ (MFN) clause which they argue will limit consumer
choice and encourage higher prices.

3. Pregnant women advised to seek medical advice before flying


Pregnant women, people with cancer and those who have recently
had a hip or knee replacement are among groups that should seek
medical advice before travelling by air according to advice on
deep vein thrombosis (DVT) issued by The Department of Health.

4. Expedia survey shows fall in travel confidence


Consumer confidence in air travel has fallen slightly over the
past month the second Travel Confidence Index from online travel
agent Expedia.co.uk shows.

5. IATA October traffic shows intensified decline


The passenger load factor suffered a further seven point fall on
the international scheduled services of IATA airlines in
October.

6. Amadeus 2002 prices to rise by 2 percent


GDS firm Amadeus has announced that from 1 January 2002 its
prices for distribution services offered to airlines will rise
on average by some 2.0 per cent.

Cendant Corporation and IBM today announced they have formed a
