To Seabourn, a daughter: With 450 godparents
VENICE – The Yachts of Seabourn has launched its newest ultra-luxury yacht, Seabourn Odyssey,
In a first for the cruise line, Odyssey’s 450 guests on her maiden cruise acted as godparents at the ceremony, before the yacht set sail on her first 14-day voyage to explore the Dalmatian coast, the Greek Isles and Turkey.
Seabourn Odyssey is the first of three 450-guest vessels being added to The Yachts of Seabourn’s fleet, representing a 216 per cent increase in capacity.
Seabourn Sojourn will join the fleet in 2010 while a third, as yet un-named addition, is due in 2011.
Australians will have a chance to see Seabourn Odyssey when she visits in February 2010 on her first 108-night world cruise, calling at Melbourne, Sydney, Cairns and Darwin.
The US$250 million Seabourn Odyssey offers the largest spa at sea on any luxury ship, featuring a two-deck-high waterfall and thalassotherapy pool.
