The new Tobago Tourism Agency has appointed its first chief executive.
It named Louis Lewis as CEO, who was previously director of tourism in St Lucia for many years.
Prior to that, Lewis served as Saint Lucia’s director of economic affairs
He led the development of a five-year strategic plan for the Saint Lucia Tourist Board from 2012 to 2016 and oversaw two successful rebranding exercises in 2009 and 2013.
"The Division of Tourism, Culture and Transportation and the Tobago Tourism Agency Board are confident that Mr Lewis possesses the skills, knowledge and expertise to move Destination Tobago forward," the agency said in a statement.
The Tobago Tourism Agency was established after the government decided to set up a standalone independently run tourism promotion body for the island.
