Tour operator folds but vows to return ‘if the pandemic allows’
The owners of adventure specialist Flash Pack have placed the company into administration, but said they will relaunch the business if Covid relents and the market returns.
The Civil Aviation Authority confirmed the London-based tour operator ceased trading on November 3.
Flash Pack offered trips around the word for solo travellers in the 30 and 40s, with a promise to ‘get under the skin’ of a destination.
Founder Radha Vyas and Lee Thompson said they spent seven months ‘searching for ways that would allow Flash Lack to continue, from funding to furlough’.
"Although we know travel will return, continuing to search for a viable solution with no clear idea of when this will happen is now too great a risk," they wrote on their website.
Placing the business in administration will allow customers to obtain refunds ‘as quickly as possible’.
But the couple said they have mortgaged their homes to ‘save the business’.
"We’re not ready for the adventure to end," the wrote. "Our hope is to relaunch some time in 2021, when or if the pandemic allows. The future of our adventure is still uncertain and we have no idea if we’ll be back but, for now, our website and social channels will remain online, in hibernation."
