Tourism Australia’s current acting managing director Phillipa Harrison has got the nod to continue as boss on a permanent basis.
Harrison took over from in the summer from John O’Sullivan who departed for a job in the private sector.
Prior to taking on the interim role, Harrison was executive general manager, International.
In this role she had responsibility for TA’s international offices and building trade relationships with airlines and other major tourism stakeholders.
She joined Tourism Australia three years ago and becomes its first female MD.
"I couldn’t be happier or prouder to be given the chance to head up the Tourism Australia team. This is a period of change, challenge and opportunity for our industry," Harrison said.
"My focus is very much on making sure that Tourism Australia continues to lead from the front, through creative and high impact marketing."
