Tourism Concern Launches New Ethical Travel Guide
The fully revised new edition of Tourism Concern’s acclaimed Ethical Travel Guide has now been published. It gives a background to the many ethical and practical issues involved in ethical tourism, including a new section on travel and climate change.
Says Tricia Barnett, director of Tourism Concern: “The Ethical Travel Guide is much more than an innovative and stimulating guide to some of the most exciting holiday experiences around. It is tool in Tourism Concern’s fight to ensure that local people always benefit from tourism.”

The new edition includes:
• An extensive updated and expanded directory, listing over 400 hundred places to visit and stay in more than 70 countries, from canoeing the backwaters of the Amazon to luxury breaks in the Indian Ocean
• A new section tackling the dilemma of tourism and climate change by Tourism Concern director, Tricia Barnett
• Extended introduction, ‘Under an Ethical Sky’, by Polly Pattullo
• Real-life experiences told by ethical travellers
• Full-colour photographs
The book was written by Polly Pattullo and Orely Minelli and published by Earthscan.
