Tourism ministry targets January for all Thai destinations to reopen

Thailand’s Tourism Ministry is targeting January 2022 to open up the whole country to quarantine-free international tourism. It is still subject to reaching nationwide herd immunity.
From October, Chiang Mai, Hua Hin and Pattaya will join the sandbox quarantine-free tourism scheme while Bangkok will reopen in November.
From Oct 15 there are expected to be 25 provinces open to tourists via the sandbox programme accessible after spending seven days in Phuket or one of the other primary sandbox destinations.
