Tourist causes outrage after stripping naked in Bali temple

A German tourist caused uproar by stripping off and gatecrashing a dance performance at a sacred Bali temple.

Caught on video, 28-year-old Darja Tuschinski walked onto the stage fully naked.

She was arrested and faces a possible prison sentence.

However, her bizarre demeanour and actions have flagged mental health issues and she is currently under mental health assessment in a medical facility.

The incident occurred at the Saraswati Temple – one of Ubud’s most revered temples, and popular for its regular traditional dance performances.

It caused outrage on social media and is the latest in a number of viral incidents of tourists’ lack of cultural sensitivity at cultural sites around Bali.
