Tourists rescued from burning boat in Indonesia
A boat in Komodo National Park, near Flores, Indonesia suffered a major fire but all 15 foreign tourists and boat crew were safe.
The KM Molise boat was ferrying passengers between the islands of the National Park when fire struck near Padar Island.
Edi Suryono of the West Manggarai search and rescue team said the tourists all were safely evacuated to another passing boat and hail from the UK, The US, France, Portugal and the Netherlands.
Images showed the boat completely gutted by the fire.
"The cause and the chronology of this incident are still under investigation," Suryono said.
Last week a major fire scorched a large area of vegetation on nearby Gili Lawa Darat Island, which is thought to have been caused by a tourist discarding a lit cigarette.
