TQ3 TRAVEL SOLUTIONS AND E-TRAVEL EXPAND GLOBAL PARTNERSHIP
Major travel players create multinational alliance to deliver corporate online booking solutions.
14 January 2003, Madrid – TQ3 Travel Solutions, one of the world’s largest providers of travel management services, and e-Travel, the global leader in online travel solutions and the e-commerce unit of Amadeus GTD, today announced a strategic partnership whereby TQ3 will provide e-Travel’s online self-booking tools to its corporate customers around the world.
TQ3 Travel Solutions will become a global reseller of e-Travel’s broad range of powerful online booking solutions. These solutions include e-Travel® Aergo and SAP Travel Management, designed for easy deployment in local markets worldwide.
The agreement springs from the existing global technology and business partnership between Amadeus and the TUI travel group. TQ3 is 50 per cent owned by TUI AG. Amadeus currently provides TUI with leading edge global distribution and e-commerce solutions, all supported on a common platform.
Today e-Travel and TQ3 already share an impressive roster of blue chip customers using e-Travel Aergo or SAP Travel Management, including DaimlerChrysler.
“Corporations are increasingly aware that focusing on travel is one of the most effective ways for them to cut costs,” said Ian Wheeler, managing director of e-Travel. “Our partnership with TQ3 deepens both companies’ commitments to delivering corporations solutions and services that significantly benefit their bottom line.”
“TQ3’s big focus has always been to provide our customers with swift and sure results,” said Jon Farrier, TQ3’s Chief Information Officer EMEA. “e-Travel’s proven solutions and global reach are a complement to our existing services and tangibly enhance our customer services across the globe.”
