Travel Counsellors unveils UK growth at big budget conference
The average Travel Counsellor grew their individual income by 10% last year, according to the latest figures.
Speaking to homeworkers at the group’s conference in Manchester this week, MD Steve Byrne said global sales for the year until October 31 were £428 million, up from £385 million the previous year.
The UK business grew by 11% over the past year for both its leisure and business division, and has grown 53% over the past five years.
"As a company we’ve continued to see extraordinary growth which is testament to the passion and dedication of our people" Byrne told delegates.
He said in a recent company survey, 97% of Travel Counsellors agreed with the statement ‘I love my job’.
"Yet there is significant scope for us to grow even further – the market is huge and we aim to make the most of every opportunity, by continuing to offer the very best personal service to each and every customer," he added.
The big budget weekend conference, with 1.500 delegates, saw performances from TV presenter Vernon Kay, the ‘people’s tenor’ Russell Watson, stand-up comedian Sean Lock and Mick Hucknall’s Simply Red.
A spokeswoman said the budget was bigger this year because the event celebrated the group’s 20th anniversary.
