Travelcare jumps on overseas property bandwagon
Travelcare has followed Thomson and other agency groups by moving into the property business by offering overseas homes for sale.
Property details will be available through the independent chain’s website and in branches in a partnership with specialist Headlands International.
Homes in Spain, Portugal, Cyprus and Turkey will be offered initially with additional countries, starting with Bulgaria, to be added.
As well as online, at www.travelcare.co.uk/properties, the service will be available in branches initially in west Lancashire and Merseyside, before being expanded to all 360 Travelcare outlets nationwide.
The contract also means Cheapestflights, part of Travelcare, will fulfil all Headlands’ viewing trips for people interested in buying properties.
As the service develops, Travelcare plans to help those who buy overseas properties get rental income by letting them for holidays.
Travelcare’s national business development manager David Wilkinson, said: “Customers often ask us about buying properties abroad, and this is a service we’ve been keen to develop.
“Headlands has been in the industry for many years, and has a excellent record as a very reputable company. Essentially we’ll be putting potential buyers in touch with reputable sellers.
“There is huge potential for Travelcare and Headlands in this partnership,” claimed Wilkinson. “There is a growing market for people to invest in overseas property, and Travelcare and Headlands are ideally placed to help potential buyers, and to help them get the best out of property they buy.”
Headlands International managing partner Stephen Headland said: “There is great synergy between our two businesses and we are delighted to be associated with a brand that shares our values and ethics. We have an unrivalled portfolio that Travelcare customers can now access and we look forward to a long and successful partnership.”
