Travelodge invests in new-look hotels
Budget hotel chain Travelodge is investing £1.2 billion in 200 new-look hotels by 2012.
The hotels are designed to open in time for the London Olympics, with 20 of them in London.
The new design is the first time Travelodge has seen a wholesale change in design since the company’s inception in 1985.
Rooms will be in a contemporary style, incorporating a red, white and blue colour scheme, with “zebrano rich tone furnishings and mood setting coloured lighting, digital flat screen TV and
Wi-Fi”.
A new Bar Café will have three separate areas:’ chill-out lounge’ to wind down, a smart dining area and a contemporary bar area.
The first new-look hotel will open in Sunbury in September.
Around 50 existing hotels will be fitted with the new rooms.
