Traveltek’s Global Expansion Strategy Pays Dividends At World Travel Market 2017
Technology specialist witnesses its busiest year yet at London show as travel companies from key international growth markets flock to its stand
Glasgow, 14th November, 2017: Traveltek Group Ltd has started to reap the benefits of its fast-tracked global expansion strategy with travel firms from key international markets flocking to its stand at last week’s World Travel Market.
The Glasgow-headquartered travel technology specialist reported its busiest year yet at the London show following a 12-month period of rapid growth, with new regional offices opened in Dubai, Hong Kong and Singapore.
This led to a noticeable year-on-year upsurge in interest from travel agents, tour operators and wholesalers from Middle East countries visiting Traveltek at WTM, who were keen to find out more about its B2B and B2C multi-channel sales solutions – technology that is new to that region of the world.
At the same time, the company piqued the interest of a wide range of international suppliers, from airlines and bedbanks to ancillaries, as well as tour operators, who were looking to harness Traveltek’s powerful distribution capabilities.
"In the UK alone, we plug into more independent agency desktops than any other provider, and as our expansion strategy gains momentum, with our client base rapidly growing across Europe, the Middle East, Asia and North America, we can offer suppliers and tour operators global distribution capabilities that deliver tangible results," said Peter Whittle, Global Sales Director, Traveltek.
"Strong brand recognition, trade recommendations and our reputation in the UK and international marketplace where we work with some of the world’s leading travel companies, are also key draw cards for potential clients, not to mention our API, connecting travel bookers to more than 300 suppliers."
On day one of this year’s WTM, Traveltek unveiled its next-generation cruise booking platform, which also generated significant traffic to its stand where demonstrations took place.
Traveltek CruiseNX offers travel and cruise specialists a raft of enhanced capabilities designed to drive productivity and enhance the user experience.
Traveltek’s WTM success also reflects an upswing in UK travel industry sentiment, with a show report revealing three quarters of industry professionals predict sector growth in 2018.
Almost 80% of those surveyed in the World Travel Market 2017 Industry Report anticipated an increase in bookings next year compared to 67% last year.
"Travel companies that have the right technology in place can capitalise on this upswing in business," said Whittle. "That’s why in 2018, Traveltek will be making further user experience enhancements, helping agencies improve efficiency, drive profitability and make the most of positive consumer sentiment."
World Travel Market 2017 was staged at ExCel London from Monday November 6th to Wednesday November 8th.
