Travelzest completes purchase of Canadian business
Travelzest has completed the acquisition of itravel2000.com, the Canadian on-line travel agent.
The company will be re-admitted to trading on AIM today.
Travelzest acquired itravel2000.com for a total consideration of Can$51.5 million (£24.5 million).
The acquisition is designed to give Travelzest with a foothold in North America and help it expand its seasonal business into the winter months.
Itravel2000 specialises in the sale of travel and travel related products primarily to retail customers.
Travelzest chief executive Chris Mottershead said: “We can now focus on replicating our business model in a new territory in order to generate year-round revenue and profit. itravel2000.com provides an excellent platform from which to build our business in North America.”
