Trivago revenues top €1 billion for first time
Hotel search website Trivago saw revenues increase 37% in 2017 to €1,035 million.
Net loss in the fourth quarter of the year was €9.6 million, compared to a net income of €100,000 in the same period of 2016.
Net loss for the year to the end of December was €13 million, compared to a loss of €51.4 million for the same period in 2016.
CEO and founder Rolf Schromgens said:"The past year has been focused on building a solid foundation that we can use to execute our vision of building the best product for our users, and to further strengthen trust in our brand.
"We finished the year in line with our previously stated guidance, and due in part to marketplace volatility, gained tremendous learnings along the way.
"Having significantly increased our brand awareness, optimized our back-end structures and broadened our offering to include alternative accommodation over the course of the year, we believe we are now in the strong position to move forward."
