TSA preps for busy summer travel season

The Transportation Security Administration is warning travellers of a busy summer season which could exceed pre-pandemic levels.

The agency says there could be more than three million passengers passing through screening per day during the busiest days of summer. That would be an all-time record.

The summer season has four major holiday weekends when passenger volumes are expected to surpass current records.

“We have taken every step to make sure that we’re ready and prepared for the summer,” said TSA Administrator David Pekoske.

“We work continuously with our airport and airline partners to anticipate and prepare for higher traffic patterns.”
