TSA screening rules amended to allow for wearing of face masks
The Transportation Security Administration has amended screening protocol to allow passengers to pass through screening wearing cloth face coverings.
They do not have to be removed but the TSA tweeted: "be prepared to adjust masks so that a TSA officer can visually confirm your identity."
After weeks of insisting Americans do not need to wear face masks, the US Administration reversed that advice.
It is now recommending that people wear ‘non-medical cloth’ face coverings outside the home, although it is not compulsory like some countries.
Several airlines including American and Southwest Airlines allow cabin crew to wear masks in the cabin while Emirates last week advised customers to bring their own face masks and gloves to wear during flights as it resumed services.
