TTD: GetThere to take on Travelocity design
GetThere, the online corporate booking tool, is being given a new Travelocity-style look and feel and a streamlined booking path.
Available to GetThere clients, travel management companies and agency resellers worldwide from the end of June, the new design features a variety of colour and styles for corporations to choose from, each with a more visually-appealing block-style layout.
The new look is designed to make it easier for travellers to see and search content throughout the site, from login page to availability, itinerary review and purchase.
It is the latest in a line of technology-sharing initiatives between GetThere and Travelocity.
“Our new user interface and upgraded booking paths mark the latest step in the convergence of business and leisure travel in the online sector,” said Beverly Heinritz, GetThere general manager.
“Travel managers benefit from our global reach and scale, while their travellers can book business trips with preferred suppliers in the same manner that they shop and book their holidays or weekend city breaks.”
Business travellers booked more than $6.3 billion in travel via GetThere in 2005.
According to a January 2006 Jupiter Research report, 55% of managed frequent business travellers are now booking online.
