TTG owner buys OAG for £2.5m
United Business Media, the owner of Travel Trade Gazette, has bought flight information provider OAG Holdings for £2.5 million.
OAG will be integrated into UBM subsidiary Commonwealth Business Media’s BACK Aviation database business.
CBM president and CEO Alan Glass said: “The acquisition of OAG gives Commonwealth a great opportunity to extend and enhance our aviation industry product portfolio.
“Combining our existing BACK Aviation database products with those of OAG will enable us to build a set of market-leading, data-based workflow products that are integral to the everyday operations of the aviaition industry worldwide.”
OAG’s airline schedule database holds historial and future flight details for 1,000 airlines and more than 3,500 airports and tracks around 28 million departures a year.
It has more than 50,000 customers, including travel agencies and almost half of its 2006 revenues of £24 million came from data and electronic products, a proportion which is expected to rise, according to UBM.
Established more than 70 years ago, Dunstable-based OAG employs 400 staff in nine offices worldwide.
